RPSC Research Assistant Eligibility Criteria (Based on 2016 – Subject to Change in 2024)
- Educational Qualification:
- A Second Class Postgraduate degree in Economics/Economics and Public Administration/Public Administration/Sociology/Mathematics/Commerce/statistics
- Working knowledge of Hindi written in Devanagari script and knowledge of Rajasthani culture.
- Note: Candidates must possess the minimum educational qualification by the last date for submitting online applications. Those who have appeared for the final qualifying exam but are awaiting results can apply, but must have eligibility criteria before examination.
Age Criteria:
Minimum age criteria is 18-40 years subject to relaxation of different eligible categories and 3 years relaxation is also given to overage students due to large time period gap in previous vacancy and latest one.

- Statistics: Definition and importance of statistics, population and sampling methods, data representation, sources of data, data collection techniques (schedule, questionnaire, observation, interview), survey methods, case studies, PRA (Participatory Rural Appraisal), data analysis, measures of central tendency (mean, median, mode), dispersion, hypothesis testing, Chi-square test, and various sampling techniques.
- Economics: Overview of India’s five-year plans, planning and economic development in India, impact of planning on the economic development of Rajasthan.
- Computer: Introduction to Personal Computer Operating Systems (e.g., Windows), MS Excel (create tables, charts, perform calculations), basic knowledge of the internet.
